I’m going to be honest. I’m a little torn about how to review. The facility itself is super nice. It’s been renovated and is very clean. However, I’m very upset with the communication from the Inn. One of the main roads to reach the hotel was closed. We had to detour over 2 HOURS to reach the hotel only for there to be no food because the restaurant was ALSO closed. Nearest food was 20 minutes away. Now - every other hotel on our trip messaged us multiple times for various reasons. This hotel could (and should) have messaged us ahead of time to let us know about road and restaurant closures and that basically the ENTIRE town was shut down. We could have made a decision to cancel or not. As it was, by the time we found out, it was too late, and no refunds would be given. Just super disappointed in the staff service and communication. 2/10

We stayed here on our way out of Death Valley. You really feel like you are in the middle of nowhere and then there is this hotel, a gas station with some food, and a restaurant. The restaurant across the street was closed when we were there which was unfortunate but about 7 miles away (on a straight easy road) was the most delicious BBQ I have ever had at Tecopa Brewing Company. That was one of the highlights of our whole trip. The motel had a pool a short drive or walk away that was thermal. A bit dated but fine. Bed was comfortable, heater kept us warm. Coffee and fridge in room.

Although a little bit more pricey, this Inn is worth the few extra bucks. Loved the historic architecture, the overall surrounding area and especially the natural pool/hot springs nearby which you're allowed to use as a guest. The rooms are beautiful, comfy and clean, maybe a little smaller (at least by American standards), but we didn't mind that at all. In the morning coffee and bagels with delicious jam were provided. Can also very much recommend the restaurant/bar directly across the street.

Shoshone is a cute little ghost town, maybe 45 min drive from Badwater Basin. There’s a saloon across the street for dinner, nice walking trails in town and the motel gets you access to the heated natural pool (except Mondays). By the pool, there’s a pupfish that lives only in a pond in Shoshone! Motel staff are both kind and efficient and there’s free light breakfast (bagels, fruit, yogurt) and some outdoor tables.
